We
would like to take this opportunity to cordially
welcome all to join our 10th anniversary
Prince Mahidol Award Congress to be held at The
Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel in Bangkok , Thailand
from 1st –3rd February 2002.
The Prince Mahidol Award was inaugurated in 1992 by
the Prince
Mahidol Award Foundation under Royal Patronage,
with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri
Sirindhorn as president, to recognize the leadership
and outstanding achievements of world class
scientists who have contributed to the world
community in medicine and public health. During the
past 10 years, The Prince Mahidol Awardees have been
selected for their eminent achievements and their
awards have been conferred by His Majesty King
Bhumipol each year during the last week of January.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the
Prince Mahidol Award, and thus, a special scientific
congress is being organized to commemorate the
event.
The
title of this 10th anniversary congress
for the Prince Mahidol Award is “Medicine and
Public Health in the Post-genomic Era” . The topic
of this congress was carefully chosen to highlight
the recent and rapid advancement of molecular
biology and achievements in sequencing the genomes
of humans and other organisms. These advances will
have an immense impact on the future of medicine and
public heath all over the world in each and every
community. The congress has invited eminent
scientists to give addresses on topics such as
genomic medicine and control of tropical diseases,
bioinfomatics, pharmacogenomics, nutrition in the
post–genomic era, emerging disease surveillance,
social and ethical issues in the post-genomic era
among others. Congress participants will share the
most up – to – date information in the post-genomic
era and have the opportunity to carry out in-depth
discussions with world class scientists.
On
this very special occasion, we would like to extend
a whole-hearted welcome to all those interested in
joining the congress on “Medicine and Public
Health in the Post-genomic Era”. |
